Sometimes, a few words can say a lot.
So here at Instore, we’d like to say a big ‘Thank You’ to our partners who’ve kept the wheels of their supply chains turning over the recent months. For much of the lockdown we’ve been understandably quiet, but we’re immensely grateful to those who’ve ensured that there is the opportunity for us to return and play our part.
Over recent months, many of our retail customers have ramped up their online deliveries, prioritising the elderly and vulnerable to help curb the spread of COVID-19. Others have introduced extensive safety measures in stores to ensure trading continues for those able to visit. And as restrictions have eased, we’re delighted to see High Street and travel retailers returning to trading
Meanwhile, our parent company Smiths News maintained a full service throughout the lockdown. And despite the tightest of time windows – with no possibility of delaying or deferring deliveries – they reached 27,000 customers every day. From Land’s End to Lindisfarne they ensured the news reached thousands of communities across the UK.
Without the collective efforts of suppliers and retailers, we know that many communities would have suffered, and many businesses forced to close. As we come to terms with the ‘new normal’ it’s reassuring to know that we can work so effectively together in common cause.
We at Instore are now getting up back to speed we’re keen to do our bit too. Our field colleagues have protective equipment, we’ve put in place new visiting procedures and we’re looking forward to helping the UK gradually return to normal.
